These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Keeper Mailbox's virtual mailbox and mail handling services ("Services"). By creating an account or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Please read these Terms carefully before using our Services. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you may not use our Services.

1. Definitions

The following definitions apply throughout these Terms:

  • "Company," "we," "us," or "our" refers to Keeper Mailbox.
  • "Customer," "you," or "your" refers to the individual or entity using our Services.
  • "Account" means your Keeper Mailbox account providing access to our Services.
  • "Virtual Address" means the street address we provide for receiving your mail and packages.
  • "Mail" includes letters, packages, parcels, and any postal items delivered to your Virtual Address.
  • "USPS Form 1583" refers to the Application for Delivery of Mail Through Agent required by United States Postal Service regulations.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Keeper Mailbox Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Keeper Mailbox.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes via email or through your account dashboard. Your continued use of our Services after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

3. Account Registration and Verification

3.1 Eligibility

To use our Services, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain and update your information as necessary

3.2 USPS Form 1583 Requirement

As required by USPS regulations, all customers must complete and submit USPS Form 1583 (Application for Delivery of Mail Through Agent) before we can receive mail on your behalf. This form must be notarized with valid government-issued photo identification.

3.3 Identity Verification

You must provide valid government-issued photo identification for verification purposes. We verify all customers in compliance with US federal and state regulations. Acceptable forms of identification include:

  • Driver's license or state-issued ID card
  • US passport or passport card
  • Other government-issued photo identification

3.4 Business Accounts

Business accounts require additional documentation, including business registration, tax identification, and authorized signer information. We may request additional verification documents for business accounts.

4. Services Provided

4.1 Virtual Mailbox Services

We provide you with a physical street address for receiving mail and packages. Services include:

  • Mail receipt and notification with envelope photos
  • Mail scanning and digital delivery
  • Mail forwarding to your specified address
  • Package receipt and storage
  • Mail shredding and disposal
  • Check deposit services (where available)

4.2 Service Limitations

We do not accept certain types of mail and packages, including but not limited to:

  • Hazardous materials or prohibited items under federal law
  • Perishable goods requiring refrigeration
  • Live animals or plants
  • Illegal items or contraband
  • Items that violate carrier restrictions

5. Fees and Payment

5.1 Subscription Fees

You agree to pay all fees associated with your chosen subscription plan. Fees are charged in advance on a monthly or annual basis, as selected during registration.

5.2 Additional Service Fees

Certain services incur additional fees, including:

  • Mail scanning (per piece)
  • Mail forwarding (based on weight and destination)
  • Extended storage beyond free period
  • Shredding services
  • Check deposit services

5.3 Payment Methods

We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and ACH transfers. You authorize us to charge your payment method for all fees incurred.

5.4 Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled. You will be charged the then-current rate for your plan.

5.5 Failed Payments

If payment fails, we will attempt to charge your payment method again. Continued payment failure may result in service suspension or termination.

6. Cancellation and Refunds

6.1 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

6.2 Refund Policy

Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law. If you cancel mid-billing period, you will retain access to Services until the end of your paid period, but no refund will be issued for unused time.

6.3 Mail Disposition Upon Cancellation

Upon cancellation, you must provide forwarding instructions for any mail in our possession. Mail not claimed or forwarded within 30 days will be returned to sender or destroyed, at our discretion.

7. Prohibited Uses

You may not use our Services for any illegal purposes or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.

Specifically prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Fraudulent activities or misrepresentation
  • Money laundering or financial crimes
  • Receiving illegal goods or contraband
  • Evading legal obligations or court orders
  • Operating unlicensed businesses where licenses are required
  • Violating export control or sanctions laws
  • Infringing intellectual property rights
  • Harassment or threatening communications

We reserve the right to immediately terminate accounts engaged in prohibited activities and to cooperate fully with law enforcement.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

8.1 Privacy Policy

Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

8.2 Mail Scanning and Viewing

When you request mail scanning services, you authorize us to open and scan your mail. We maintain strict confidentiality and security measures for all scanned documents.

8.3 Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8.4 Compliance

We comply with all applicable US federal and state privacy laws, including requirements for handling sensitive information.

9. Liability and Disclaimers

9.1 Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Services may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control.

9.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KEEPER MAILBOX SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

9.3 Maximum Liability

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of our Services shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9.4 Lost or Damaged Mail

While we exercise reasonable care in handling your mail, we are not liable for mail lost, damaged, or delayed by carriers, postal services, or circumstances beyond our control. We recommend insurance for valuable items.

9.5 Third-Party Services

We are not responsible for actions or failures of third-party carriers (USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL) or other service providers.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Keeper Mailbox, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from:

  • Your use or misuse of our Services
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any law or regulation
  • Your violation of any rights of third parties
  • Mail or packages you receive through our Services

11. Termination

11.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by providing notice through your account dashboard.

11.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Non-payment of fees
  • Abuse of our Services or staff
  • Any reason at our sole discretion with 30 days' notice

11.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use our Services ceases immediately. You remain responsible for any fees incurred before termination. We will retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

12. Dispute Resolution

12.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12.2 Arbitration Agreement

Any dispute arising from these Terms or our Services shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's Commercial Arbitration Rules. You waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action lawsuit.

12.3 Exceptions to Arbitration

Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for intellectual property disputes or to enforce arbitration provisions.

12.4 Small Claims Court

Either party may bring an individual action in small claims court as an alternative to arbitration.

13. General Provisions

13.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Keeper Mailbox regarding our Services.

13.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

13.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

13.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.

13.5 Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, war, terrorism, labor disputes, or government actions.

13.6 Notice

We may provide notices to you via email to the address on file, through your account dashboard, or by posting on our website. You consent to receive electronic communications from us.
